United States - United States 1870/1893 - Selection of Classic Issues

• A highly diverse selection totaling 74 used stamps organized by pages. Includes regular issues of classic high face value (from 1¢ to 90¢) with portraits of notable figures and presidents of the U.S. (Franklin, Washington, Jackson, Jefferson, Lincoln, Webster or Perry). • Highlights a section devoted to official stamps from government Departments (Treasury Department series in brown and Department of Interior in red/yellow). • Used (cancelled), with a wide variety of period cancellations (date stamps, mute cancellations, cork grid marks, and urban marks such as New York/Philadelphia). • Reverse with evident remnants of old hinges (hinges), subtle marks of natural oxidation, and some technical marks noted in pencil by previous collectors, visible in the back images. Perforations and margins vary by piece. See the images to form your own impression.
