US CIVIL WAR M1840 WRISTBREAKER CAVALRY SABERS BY TIFFANY. Bright steel blade with light patina marked "TIFFANY & Co. / NEW-YORK" on obverse ricasso, though marking is weak on the right half and some letters are missing. Reverse ricasso is marked "PDL". Iron hilt with dark spots and patina. Grooved cone-shaped wood grip wrapped with leather and single twisted brass wire binding. Iron scabbard with dual carrying rings exhibits a matching dark patina to the hilt. CONDITION: Good.
