This outstanding collection brings together a lot of 923 marbles with a total weight of 5.552 kg. It consists of antique and vintage collectible marbles, dating mainly from the 1960s to the 1990s. The pieces come from various renowned manufacturers across Europe, Mexico, and the United States. The collection is notable for its great variety of materials and finishes: mass-colored glass, opaque glass, frosted glass (matte), as well as complex surface treatments with iridescent or bright metallic finishes. The dimensions range from the standard 16 mm diameter to large caps and calots of the collection. Detailed inventory by marble categories Mottled and Confetti Marbles These models are characterized by opaque-base marbles, most often white or yellow, fully speckled with small spots or multicolored fragments. This sought-after style, often called "Spaghetti", "Clown" or "Confetti", was largely produced by the famous Mexican brand Vacor (Glass Marbles) during the 1980s and 1990s. Swirl Marbles and Cat's Eyes This large family includes the classic "Cat's Eye" marbles, which are transparent glass marbles trapping color slivers in the center in the shape of blades (yellow, green or blue). It also groups opaque "Swirls" where lines of different colors form sinuous waves on the surface, typical of historic American manufacturers like Vitro Agate or Marble King. Metallic and Iridescent (Oil Slick) Marbles These dark glass marbles feature a high-end surface coating that creates multicolored reflections (purple, gold, blueish) that change with light, reminiscent of petroleum films. Known under the names "Milky Way" or "Midnight Galaxy", they form a very cohesive and particularly brilliant aesthetic set. Textured, Nugget and Frosted Marbles This category groups artistic pieces with a distinctive texture. It includes translucent marbles with a rough or crackled surface called "Nuggets", "bubble" marbles filled with micro-bubbles that capture light, and frosted glass marbles offering a soft matte frosted appearance. Galaxy and Glitterbomb Marbles Considered the most unusual pieces in the lot, these marbles have a very dark glass base studded with white inclusions and glittering specks. This unique effect imitates a starry sky or a galaxy, making them highly prized by collectors. Monochrome or veined Calots and Boulards This section includes the large-diameter marbles of the collection. It gathers large opaque monochrome calots (black, vivid red or yellow), a matte black calot with a frosted finish, as well as large marbled or metallized boulards that were the centerpiece pieces for games. The Oceanic and Classic Translucent Marbles This massive group forms the foundation of the collection with monochrome glass marbles colored through and through. They appear in transparent shades of olive green, bottle green, and turquoise blue, reflecting the most emblematic models used in schoolyards at the end of the 20th century.
