This large centerpiece or decorative bowl in solid crystal is an iconic creation from the prestigious Belgian crystal manufacture Val Saint Lambert, from the famous Splash series produced during the 1960s. This iconic model was designed by the talented and renowned designer René Delvenne, who deeply influenced the history of the manufacture with his modernist and dynamic creations. The piece stands out for its spectacular organic shape obtained by hot stretching of the glass material, simulating the frozen movement of a splash or a blooming corolla with raised asymmetrical points. The bicolor aesthetic relies on the sommerso or cased crystal technique, trapping a central mass of a superb pink fuchsia or cranberry hue inside a thick envelope of high-quality clear transparent crystal. The object bears no engraved signature under its base, which is entirely typical for pieces from this line of the manufacture that were initially identified by an ephemeral paper label. The dimensions recorded for this hollow artwork are 12 cm in height, 22 cm in width and a remarkable length of 65 cm from point to point. Regarding its condition, this crystal bowl is in excellent original general condition, the material preserving perfect clarity and brilliance under the light, with no structural chips, cracks or any restorations to report on any of its stretched edges.
