Val Saint Lambert - René Delvenne - Platter - Crystal, 59 cm

Spectacular and rare monumental-sized center table centerpiece (length 59 cm, width 18 cm) in heavy and solid art crystal, produced by the famous Belgian crystal manufacturer Val Saint-Lambert (Seraing). Model with fluid organic lines in a gondola shape, emblematic of the post-war modernist period, designed under the artistic direction of René Delvenne (1950s/60s). Two-tone piece (sommerso) with clear crystal and heat-stretched tips in intense cobalt blue crystal. Still bears its original era label in the form of a red and gold seal at the center. Flat base perfectly ground and polished, a characteristic of the manufacture. Very good vintage condition overall; the crystal retains superb transparency and remarkable original brilliance. No major nicks on the tips or cracks.
