Vanessa Bonino - Sculpture, Geometric Bull - 29 cm - Earthenware - 2026

Vanessa Bonino's work is a powerful formal synthesis that depicts a bull in dynamic tension. Made in terracotta, the sculpture deceives the eye thanks to a masterful cold patination that reproduces the oxidation of ancient bronze. The body, with almost cubist geometries, concentrates the mass into an imposing lump, a symbol of primal strength. The surface is markedly tactile, rich in grooves and ripples that vibrate under light, while the blue color gives it a totemic and timeless appearance. It is a dialogue between earth and metal, where animal vigor becomes monumental and vibrant art. It will be shipped inside a solid casing, with a certificate of authenticity. Vanessa Bonino (Turin, 1992) is a contemporary artist whose current research focuses on the plastic force of material sculpture. Trained in the cultural fervor of Turin, Bonino has evolved her eclectic style toward an original synthesis between ceramic tradition and digital languages. Her latest productions attest to a deep experimentation with terracotta and glazed ceramic, where ancestral forms — such as the bull or the carp — are reinterpreted through low-poly geometries or expressive, dynamic models. Her stylistic signature stands out for the astute use of evolving cold patinas and vitreous glazes, capable of transforming earth into surfaces vibrant with light and color. Addressing themes related to nature and the metamorphosis of matter, Bonino creates works that are at once solid and fluid, inviting the viewer to reflect on the boundary between the archaic and the future. Her steady ascent in the Italian contemporary art scene is confirmed by an increasingly solid presence in private collections and dynamic exhibition contexts.
