Vanessa Foderà (1981) – TIME IS MONEY #26 – GMT MASTER II – Playmobil XXL 65 cm Discover TIME IS MONEY #26, a creation by French artist Vanessa Foderà – ARTOYS DESIGNER, from her series dedicated to the world of luxury, watchmaking and Pop Art culture. Created from a commercial 65 cm Playmobil XXL base, this artwork is fully transformed and customized in the artist's studio. For this numbered piece #26, Vanessa Foderà humorously and playfully revisits the visual universe of the GMT-Master II, in a composition dominated by deep green, black, white and gold accents. The TIME IS MONEY series confronts the imaginary world of the iconic childhood toy with the contemporary codes of luxury, design and watchmaking. This artistic creation is independent and produced in a subversive and parodic approach, without collaboration, affiliation or authorization from Rolex or Playmobil. The brands and symbols represented are reference elements integrated into the artistic composition. Creation and techniques The base is prepared through several steps of sanding, priming and professional undercoating, before coloring. The artist combines different mixed techniques: - professional paints, manual finishing work, decorative details, rhinestones, mixed techniques. This technique yields particularly precise graphics, intense colors, and excellent definition of small details, while integrating them into the overall composition of the work. The piece then receives several layers of glossy protective varnish, adding depth, uniformity and protection to the finish. The helmet, jacket, sleeves, shoes and various graphic elements have been worked to create a visually striking piece from every angle. Biography Born in 1981, Vanessa Foderà develops an artistic universe nurtured by graffiti, urban culture, advertising, fashion and iconic objects of contemporary society. Influenced by 1990s counterculture and Street Art, she gradually moves toward Pop Art, appreciating the encounter between art, design, advertising and everyday objects. Her work notably relies on the artistic détournement of popular objects and instantly recognizable symbols. Fashion, automotive, watchmaking, music and pop culture thus become the starting point for colorful, humorous and deliberately offbeat compositions. Artist’s note: "Art is admiration frozen in time." — Vanessa Foderà Shipping The artwork will be carefully protected and packaged for shipping. Shipping available to France, the European Union and internationally, depending on destination, by UPS, Mondial Relay, Colissimo or an equivalent carrier. The signed certificate of authenticity will be attached to the artwork. The rotating illuminated base that may be visible in some photographs is not included in the lot and can be offered separately on request.
