Pair of porcelain vases with hand-painted scenes and gilt decorations These porcelain vases with gilt decorations and hand-painted scenes represent the elegance of the French Empire style, popular during the late eighteenth century. The scenes depicted show figures in period costumes in pastoral or mythological settings, typical of Paris porcelain production and European manufactories of the era. These vases were made as prestigious decorative objects for aristocratic and bourgeois homes. These vases are particularly appreciated by collectors of antique porcelain and by enthusiasts of decorative art of the eighteenth century. Their charm lies in the refined execution of the painted scenes, in the elaborate gilding, and in the classic amphora shape with volute handles. Such pieces are sought after for their historical value and for their ability to enrich classical and elegant interiors, representing an excellent example of European ceramic craftsmanship from the late eighteenth century.
