Impressive large two-tone amphora-shaped vase in complex neorenaissance maiolica, painted entirely by hand. Central Italy (Pesaro/Urbino) 20th century. Excellent decorative piece, representative of Italian ceramic art. The painting, executed with very fine painting, depicts a mythological scene with 3 figures in a round landscape, including the base. Handles are snake/dragon-spotted with grotesques at the base. Internal edge of the base is biscuit unglazed. In very good condition, colors still sharp and bright. Snake handles and grotesques intact. Only very small signs of time. The base at the neck appears to have been repaired, hard to notice, there is a small and normal chip at the base. See photos. Dimensions: height 62 cm; maximum width 34 cm; base 18 cm. Shipping costs include careful packaging given the delicacy of the object.
