Vase - Ruby-red glass with stacked rings • Art Deco • the...

Vaas - Ruby red glass with stacked rings in Art Deco style • Netherlands (attrib.) • c. 1925-1940 - Glass Egg-shaped ruby vase with a wide, rounded shoulder and stacked rings toward the foot. Subtle; closest to Rozendaals Argus for Kristalunie Maastricht (1931), without an exact model match. Ruby red vase in Art Deco style, presumably Dutch and from the second quarter of the twentieth century. Four to five softly stacked rings sit under a wide, rounded shoulder toward the foot. When held to the light, the red shifts from deep ruby to bright orange-red, where the wall is thin, around the neck. For illustration there is an attached image; this vase looks different in every kind of light and interior and is certainly a beautiful eye-catcher. It suits both rustic and a more modern interior. That is also the added value of Art Deco objects. For this object there is also a Buy Now price set, for those who want to acquire it immediately without waiting. In one glance: Material: color-infused ruby red glass, probably blown in a mold Dimensions: h 19.5 x diameter 15 cm Weight: 655 grams Brand: no factory mark, signature or label found Dating: c. 1925-1950 Provenance: private collection, Western Europe Description and context: Egg-shaped body with a short neck and a collar ring. The silhouette glides slightly. The bottom is mid-way slightly rough, the side smooth. The weight reflects an average wall thickness of 3.5 millimeters, with a thick bottom: not a thin-walled Victorian cranberry glass. The closest related model is Rozendaal’s Argus for Kristalunie Maastricht from 1931, also clear red with stacked rings (Nationaal Glasmuseum Leerdam, object number 1996-63). The silhouette differs: Argus tapers pear-shaped. Condition: Good. Rim, neck and foot: no chips, hairline cracks, or restorations observed. Glass mass: a few tiny bubbles and spots, typical for blown glass and no damage. Base: the center is slightly rough. See the images. Offered as a decorative object, not intended for use with food. In interiors: Fits in an Art Deco, mid-century, or eclectic interior, on a mantel or low table. In daylight or under spotlight the red glows and the thin neck rim glows orange. Shipping: Professionally packed in a sturdy box with cushioning material, for fragile objects a double box. Always insured with Track and Trace. See feedback from previous buyers. Attribution and sources: Origin Netherlands (attrib.), based on its relation to the Argus; an exact model was not found and a maker is not claimed. Belgian ribbed vases have coarser ribs, Leerdam ribbed vases do not exist in red and Reijmyre ruby is smooth and thin-walled. Bohemia cannot be ruled out.
