Salmon-pink Art Deco trumpet vase of pressed glass, with stippled and smooth panels, Germany (attributed), circa 1930–1940 Tall trumpet vase in salmon-pink glass, in which smooth and stippled panels alternate above a faceted foot. Walther & Söhne and Ankerglas Bernsdorf are ruled out based on their own model books. A salmon-pink Art Deco trumpet vase of pressed glass, attributed to Germany, circa 1930–1960. The decor plays with light. Clear panels alternate with finely stippled panels, so the wall glints and mattes alternately. A raised zigzag band with pointed arches runs around a third of the height. For this object there is also a Buy It Now price set, for those who wish to acquire it immediately without waiting. In one glance: Material: color-stable salmon-pink glass, pressed Dimensions: height 25.5 cm, diameter 14 cm Weight: 1300 grams Mark: no factory mark, signature or label found Dating: ca. 1930–1940 Provenance: from a large collection of European pressed glass Description and context: The cup flares out from a short stem with a ring, onto a conical, faceted foot. The rim follows the panels in a gentle wave. The stippling lies tightly within each panel and seems pressed with the glass. At 1300 grams the vase is heavy and thick-walled, as pressed glass of this size should be. Rose was around 1930 a standard color of Saxon and Lusatian pressed glass. The Bernsdorf model Irmgard shares the zigzag band, the facet foot and the wave rim, but has smooth panels. Therefore no factory is claimed. Condition: Good. No chips, cracks or restorations observed on the rim, zigzag band and foot. In the stippling of some panels there are small dark specks, presumably dirt. See the photographs. Offered as a decorative object. In the interior: Fits in an Art Deco, vintage, or romantic interior, on a windowsill or sideboard. In backlight the smooth panels glow pink, while the stippled ones softly diffuse the light. Shipping: Professionally packed in a sturdy box with cushioning material, for fragile objects a double box. Always insured with Track and Trace. See the feedback from previous buyers. Attribution and sources: Attributed to Germany, by color, technique and form. Walther & Söhne is ruled out: the model is not in their model books from 1934 to 1937. Ankerglas Bernsdorf is ruled out per the 1937/38 and 1951–54 catalogs. Even among over 170 documented pressed-glass vases from other factories, no equivalent model was found.
