Having graduated in Architecture in Venice, Zuccheri indissolubily linked his name to the historic Venini glassworks, creating epoch-making masterpieces starting from the famous Bestiario in 1964, up to prestigious collaborations with design icons like Gio Ponti. His work was always defined by an extraordinary passion for experimentation, successfully translating organic and natural forms into avant-garde design solutions. The lamp offered in this auction belongs to the famous "Membrane" series, one of his most iconic and highly sought-after creations. The historical significance of this collection is immense: it was officially presented by Zuccheri and Venini at the XXXVI Venice Biennale in 1972 (in the Membrane ondate bicolori variant). This event consecrated his extraordinary technique of trapping a floating "lattimo" (milky white) glass membrane inside a transparent sphere as one of the poetic peaks of Italian Space Age design. Owning this lamp means bringing home not just an exceptional lighting accent, but a true piece of Venetian glassmaking history, celebrated in major design museums worldwide.
