Vetreria barbini - Alfredo Barbini - Vase - Murano glass

elegant Murano glass vase, a work from the famous Alfredo Barbini manufactory. The vase stands out for its sinuous line and for the complex artisanal workmanship: the entire surface is wrapped by a delicate raised spiral pattern (or toriglione) that gives dynamism and three-dimensionality to the glass sculpture. Visually striking is the color choice: a beautiful and rare pastel lilac/lavender shade, obtained through the 'incamiciato' glass technique, which guarantees the piece extraordinary luster and fullness of color. Under the base the authentic signature "Barbini Murano" is clearly hand-engraved with a diamond-tipped point, an undeniable guarantee of provenance from the historic furnace. Note also the bottom of the vase, which bears the classic and fascinating spiral closure mark of the pontello, direct testimony of mouth-blown technique and of the entirely manual craftsmanship.
