All auctions / Jewellery & Gems / Victorian Ruby, Natural Pearl and Gold Link Bracelet, British, c. 1890

Bracelets were particularly popular in the last years of the 19th century: sometimes up to four of them were worn on each wrist. This piece also dates from this period. The gold bracelet has a fineness of 18 carats and is in the form of the classic round armor pattern, a jewelry design that has never gone out of fashion since. There are five larger links in the middle of the bracelet, in the middle of which are flowers made of natural pearls and rubies. The rubies are natural rubies from Burma, the classic origin of the most beautiful rubies. We discovered this beautiful bracelet in London. With its light, cheerful design, it still exudes the lifestyle of the Belle Époque.
