VIGNY (Alfred de). *Cinq-Mars, or A Conspiracy Under Louis XIII*. Paris: Javal and Bourdeaux, 1926. Quarto, red morocco leather, Jansenist style, midnight blue morocco lining edged with gold fillet, large engraved copper plate set into the front endpaper, ruby moiré endpapers, edges gilt on endpapers, cover and spine, slipcase (Noulhac). 15 watercolors by Guy Arnoux, engraved on copper by Feltesse and printed in color using color registration. Edition of 175 copies on Rives vellum, containing the illustrations in two states—in black-and-white and in color—with notes. This copy (No. 5) is enhanced with an original engraved copperplate used for the binding, an additional proof, and the color separation of the plate for *La Partie de chasse*, as well as two original watercolors by the artist, one of which was used to illustrate the book. Ex-libris by Maurice Lesieur. A few pinholes.
