Vineland, New Jersey. $5 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 467. Vineland NB. Charter #2918. PMG Choice Fine 15. A rarity that predates 1891 on account of the dual-threaded security paper that was first introduced in the 1880s. This Series of 1882 $5 Brown Back which represents the Vineland National Bank (Charter# 2918) is more than just a rarity when looking to the technical distinctions inherent to the paper stock upon which it was printed. Part of a population that numbers 21 pieces overall and where only two examples of the type are recorded, this example is every bit the survivor and also retains distinct penned signatures attributable to Cashier C.H. Anderson and President Benjamin D. Maxham which are sure to play into the mental calculations made by bidders even before this note crosses the auction block. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500.
