Vintage Brooch With Diamonds, Ruby, Emerald & Sapphire by Chopard, c. 1990

The "Happy Diamonds" series from Chopard is a classic in the history of jewellery. Diamonds of the highest quality dance between two panes of sapphire crystal, giving the piece of jewellery a new look every time you look at it. The idea for the series was born in 1976 and since then numerous pendants, rings, brooches and watches have been created in which diamonds radiate French esprit and joie de vivre. The series was created in the 1970s as an attempt to express the spirit of emancipation in the field of jewellery. The diamonds were freed from the constraints of the settings and were intended to show off their potential to shine more freely and playfully than ever before. Although the diamonds remain securely in place thanks to a glass cover, the beautiful stones gain more freedom than before. This brooch is designed as a classic bar brooch. It is forged from yellow gold. Two cabochon-cut rubies adorn the ends of the bar. Five pendants of different lengths are then set along the entire length of the brooch. A step cut sapphire and a cabochon cut emerald set the tone. The center is occupied by a heart with three movable diamonds in it. This is followed by a ruby and finally a drop with another diamond. The enchanting brooch is in very good condition and combines the playful approach of the series with a charming size. It is in very good condition and was probably created around 1990.
