Since Kokichi Mikimoto succeeded in producing pearls of unprecedented quality at the beginning of the 20th century, cultured pearls have become a "must have". Pearls, whether worn as a necklace, bracelet or earrings, are classics that look elegant and luxurious without being over the top. An anecdote about Margaret Thatcher, who refused to be photographed without her double-row pearl necklace, proves just how indispensable pearl necklaces have become. She is said to have exclaimed angrily: "Not without my pearls!" This double-row pearl necklace from the 1970s shines with the warm glow of fine Akoya cultured pearls. Their color is pearl white with a slightly rosy overlay. The pearls are very round and have a good to very good lustre. Their surface is very good, with only a few slightly irregular surface features. The two rows of individually knotted pearls end in a white gold clasp set with diamonds and sapphires. We found the fine pearls here in Berlin.
