The entourage ring is a true classic in the field of vintage jewellery. It presents itself with one of the most effective ways of vividly showcasing a large coloured stone: framed in a wreath of white diamonds, which in contrast further enhance the effect of a coloured stone. In the second half of the 20th century, white gold was often used for this purpose, as its colour is completely subdued and allows the gemstones to come to the fore. This ring also varies this classic motif. A dark blue natural sapphire weighing 2.22 ct is set in the center of the design. The stone is oval faceted and has a mysterious, almost night-black colour. It is framed by an entourage of twelve white diamonds, which, like the sapphire, are held in white gold and are of outstanding quality. Together, the diamonds weigh 0.42 ct. The ring is accompanied by the original purchase receipt dated August 25, 1989, which shows that the ring was originally purchased in Hamburg. An independent appraisal by the German Association for Gemstone Evaluation Idar-Oberstein has confirmed the quality of the materials used. It is enclosed with the ring.
