The centerpiece of this ring is a sparkling brilliant-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.90 carats. It is surrounded by a setting of natural blue sapphires arranged in a cushion pattern within a frame of small diamonds. The sapphires are cut so perfectly that they appear as a continuous field of blue gemstones. Delicate milgrains and elegant engravings complement the ring, which is meticulously crafted down to the finest detail. The ring, from the United States, was created just a few years ago—yet its design language is not new, but rather deliberately inspired by historical models. Its design evokes the spirit of the Roaring Twenties. The Great War was over, the economy was beginning to pick up, and a new style was taking the art, architecture, and crafts worlds by storm: Art Déco. But it’s not just the form; the intricate craftsmanship, featuring perfectly cut sapphires, is also fully in keeping with the sophisticated jewellery culture of the 1920s. The contrast between the dark blue of the sapphires and the sparkle of the diamonds is particularly beautiful. Although the ring is large and extravagant, it is nevertheless so precisely and skillfully crafted that it is very comfortable to wear.
