Rubies have an extraordinary value in the world of jewellery; only pink, blue or green diamonds achieve higher prices today. The most precious rubies have always come from what is now Myanmar, historically Burma, where they are found around the city of Mogok. They are characterized by an intense pink-red colour and seem to glow from an inner fire that is best seen in daylight. Such an excellent and high-quality ruby is the centerpiece of this ring. The stone, weighing approximately one carat, has an intense red color and is particularly clear and pure. The stone has not been treated or heated: its wonderful colour and purity are the result of the forces of nature alone. The ruby is surrounded by twelve brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of around 1.20 ct and of very good color and brilliance. The diamonds are arranged on several levels, thus visually elevating the ruby even further. The ring looks like a frozen dance, the dance of the firebird. To ensure that our ruby is indeed an untreated stone from Burma, we have commissioned two certificates to confirm the quality of the gemstone and its origin.
