Virgin and Child with Saint John the Baptist, Florentine Italian school

Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions 101.5 x 79 / 132 x 112 cm. Sacred composition with the Virgin seated in a serene pose, holding a book while pointing to the Christ Child, accompanied by the infant Saint John and Saint Elizabeth in the background. The figures are grouped in a well-balanced pyramidal arrangement, with gentle gestures, delicate flesh tones, and a barely visible landscape that expands the space without detracting from the prominence of the sacred group. The work displays firm drawing, Mannerist elegance, and chromatic refinement, within the Florentine tradition of the last third of the 16th century. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
