The black background of night welcomes a village with essential shapes, animated by luminous colors and by a compositional balance that transforms the view into a small theater of dreams. At the center of the scene, the white buildings articulate into geometric volumes, punctuated by thin windows and dark doors. The orange roofs dialogue with the wide turquoise surface and with the blue roof of the tower, creating a lively contrast between warm and cool tones. The gray areas suggest shadows and give texture to the façades, without interrupting the stylized simplicity of the painting language. On the right, an ochre-colored structure, dominated by a large arched profile, introduces an additional architectural rhythm. Among its elements rise trees with very slender trunks and green canopies, spread like small umbrellas. Other slender and tapered plant forms flank the village, while two rounded violet shapes dot its base. Nature thus takes on an ornamental character, participating in the construction of the scene through soft curves that accompany the regularity of the buildings. In the foreground, a wide golden band crosses the painting with a sinuous motion, suggesting a path on which two minute black figures stand, close and facing each other. Their presence introduces an intimate note: in the silence of the village, that small meeting becomes the emotional fulcrum of the composition. The small size of the figures emphasizes the breadth of the surrounding space and invites imagining a shared stroll, far from daily rush. In the upper right corner, a large white moon idealistically lights the landscape; some silhouettes of birds cross its disk, adding a slight movement to the night quiet. A little lower, a red-and-white striped hot air balloon introduces a playful accent and a nod to travel, expanding the fantastical atmosphere of the work. The dark water band in the lower part returns reflections of buildings, trees and colored shapes, prolonging the village into a second image. This play of correspondences makes the landscape even more intimate and unreal, as if each element belonged to a place kept in memory. Through clear colors, simplified volumes and discreet narrative details, Altieri gives shape to a poetic vision of the night, in which the light of the village and the proximity of the two figures evoke serenity, complicity and the pleasure of inhabiting, for a moment, a dream-space.
