Wall mirror - Antique small Baroque-style dressing mirror...

Description: A remarkably elegant and tasteful antique framing, an exquisite example of Venetian craftsmanship from the mid-19th century. The frame features a richly undulating and articulated silhouette, splendidly finished by alternating an antique lacquer in shades of sage green/gray granite with a rich gold leaf gilding on the profiles and on the raised mouldings. The superb upper crest is openwork carved with a large acanthus leaf motif fanned out, supported by elegant scrolls and curling volutes. The mirror cabinet encloses its original contemporaneous mercury glass plate, characterized by suggestive authentic floral patterns, oxidation spots and a splendid silver patina typical of the 1700s. The object retains a magnificent patina on the front, with plaster preparation and the reddish-brown bolus showing subtly at wear points. The back preserves its intact antique structure. From a prestigious private collection. • Material: Carved wood, plaster, artisanal lacquer, gold leaf, original mercury mirror Era: 19th century Style: Venetian Baroque / Louis XV External dimensions: 54 x 34 cm Internal dimensions (Mirror): 31 x 21 cm Width thickness: 5 cm Condition: Very good for its age and the fragility of the lacquer. Solid wooden structure. Note a small, old era damage (broken carving element) on the upper left end of the fan-shaped crest, which does not compromise aesthetics but certifies authenticity. Surface drops and gilding wear consistent with three centuries of history. The detailed photos are an integral part of the description.
