Wall shelf unit - Wood - Siena, Tuscany XVIII gold

Ancient decorative element in carved and gilded wood – Siena-style male head? No, it’s a feminine mascaron, sculpture from Siena in Tuscany, 18th century. Extraordinary ornamental element of great charm, crafted in finely carved and gilded wood, depicting an elegant feminine mascaron surrounded by bold volutes, foliate motifs, and decorations reminiscent of the Baroque taste. The composition presents a refined central female head, characterized by soft features and an elaborate coiffure, set within a scenographic frame of acanthus leaves and ornamental curls. The gilding, today characterized by a splendid patina of time and natural signs of wear, gives the object notable antique appeal. The small imperfections, cracks and losses visible are compatible with the age and with the artisanal nature of the work. A piece of great visual impact, ideal for: - important period residences; - collectors of decorative art; - restorers and antiquarians; - luxury interior design projects; - integration into paneling, antique furniture or historic environments. Object of rare decorative elegance, capable of becoming a focal point in any prestigious setting. It is advised to carefully view the photographs, an integral part of the description, to appreciate the condition and the authenticity of the patina.
