A very RARE and beautiful and interesting book on "Jerusalem, The City of Herod and Saladin" new edition published by Bentley in 1888. The book traces the dramatic history of Jerusalem from roughly 30 AD through major epochs—including the Roman siege by Titus, Christian and Muslim occupations, the Crusades, and the rule of Saladin—concluding with a chronicle spanning six hundred years. It explores the city's architecture, fortifications, religious significance to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and the political and religious conflicts that shaped it.
