Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) - Oriental, 1909 - Artprint - 70 x 90 cm

Iconic art print after Wassily Kandinsky – “Oriental” (1909) A high-quality, large-format art print of an early work by Wassily Kandinsky is available. Wassily Kandinsky is regarded as one of the pioneers of abstract art and counts among the most influential artists of classical modernism. As a co-founder of Der Blaue Reiter, he developed a entirely new visual language that uses color and form as independent means of expression. The motif “Oriental” from 1909 comes from a particularly exciting transitional phase in his work. During this time, Kandinsky increasingly distances himself from representational depiction and develops the expressive, color-dominated visual language that later leads to pure abstraction. Works from this early phase are especially collector-relevant, as they make the development of one of the most important pioneers of modernism directly traceable. The composition still features recognizable figurative elements, with a clearly intensified color and form dynamic. This blend gives the work a special tension and makes it a characteristic example of Kandinsky’s artistic evolution. The large-format print (approx. 70 × 90 cm) impresses with its intense color effect and strong visual presence. The work is ideal as a statement piece – for both fans of classical modernism and design-oriented interiors. An early and particularly interesting motif from one of the most important artists of modernism with high recognizability.
