water pipe - Léga - DR Congo (No reserve price)

Traditional water pipe or gour de Divination from Central Africa attributed to the Lega culture, DRC. A dried calabash forming the reservoir, decorated with a mosaic of dried seeds, edged with white shells. The draw or stopper is an anthropomorphic figure carved in polished bone. It is from the mid-20th century and has been much used. It will be well protected.
