Weatherford, Texas. $10 1882 Value Back. Fr. 577. The First NB. Charter #2477. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20. Nestled in Parker County roughly 20 minutes to the west of Fort Worth, Weatherford offers collectors a tough prospect in the form of this evenly circulated Series of 1882 $10 Value Back even though 55 non-institutional notes are presently recorded on the First National Bank (Charter# 2477) by the National Bank Note Census. Among that figure only a single example is currently recorded for this short-lived type spawned by the expiration of the Aldrich-Vreeland Act in 1915 while the present lot has yet to be recorded making it a rare opportunity magnified by both the grade assigned and a lack of noted impairments. Here faint, but extant signatures attributable to Cashier George Fant and President Walter Scott Fant are distinct and met by margins that remain unmet by tears and complemented by a paper body that offers an honest testament to circulation bound to please bidders. Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
