This ceramic sculpture, titled Monkey Group, was designed by the British artist and sculptor John Skeaping for Wedgwood as part of a series of stylized animal figures commissioned in the late 1920s. The piece depicts a larger monkey seated and embracing a smaller monkey tucked under its arm. The figurine is finished in a pale celadon green glaze over an earthenware body and is set on an integral thick rectangular plinth base. The rear of the base features the incised marks J. SKEAPING on the left and WEDGWOOD on the right. The underside of the base retains a circular white and black sticker from the Rubin Noll Collection, establishing provenance. Green felt residue is visible along the edges of the underside from a previous protective pad. Dimensions: 7.50"L x 3.25"W x 6.75"H Weight: 2.10 lb Condition Request Condition Report Good
