A hand painted earthenware pitcher produced by Wedgwood, England, dated 1931. The vessel features a globular body with a slightly flared neck, a pinched pouring spout, and a high arched loop handle. The body is decorated with a hand painted motif of stylized orange and yellow acorns with black cross hatched caps, arranged on trailing vines with green leaves. A decorative band encircling the rim consists of a black lattice or criss cross pattern above a green scalloped border, a design element repeated along the handle and at the base of the central floral sprig. The underside of the base is stamped Wedgwood Made in England and features the initials C S W over a stylized star, the date 1931, and the number 529. The base also retains several collection and auction labels, including a silver foil Rubin Collection sticker, a yellow inventory label, and a Skinner auction tag.
