This shallow stoneware bowl or dish features a white lead-glaze and cobalt blue underglaze decoration, manufactured by Wedgwood. The interior is decorated with a central reserve showing a stylized white rabbit or hare among large, serrated acanthus-like leaves. This design is set against a mottled or sponge-stippled cobalt blue ground. Fine blue hand-painted lines provide detail to the rabbit's features and the foliage veins. The exterior is finished in an undecorated cream-colored stoneware. The base includes an impressed mark reading WEDGWOOD in capital letters, along with handwritten numbers 14847 in reddish-brown pigment. Three labels are affixed to the underside: a yellow sticker for the Earl Buckman Wedgwood collection, a silver Rubin Collection sticker, and a descriptive label identifying the piece as item number 6456, dating to 1924, and attributing the work to Therese Lessore. Lessore was a French-English artist known for her early 1920s collaboration with Wedgwood, producing modern, hand-painted designs. Dimensions: 1.50"H x 7.00" dia. Dimensions: 1.50"H x 7.00" dia.
