‘’ Exceptional piece from an ancient collection, delivered with certificate of authenticity ‘’ Description : Rare bronze lunar axe head, adorned with a stylized lion on the tubular handle. Origin: Western Asia, 9th–8th century BC (ca. 900–800 BC). Beautiful natural antique green patina. Crescent-shaped blade, typical of ceremonial axes in the region. Dimensions: 125 mm (width) × 105 mm (height). Weight: 440 grams. Provenance : Formerly owned by a university professor at Oxford. Then a Canadian private collection formed in the 1980s. Acquired from Apollo Galleries, London, in 2024 (certificate of authenticity included). Export licenses : No export license required for objects sold within the European Union.
