This is a 12-inch mono vinyl LP of the original Broadway cast recording for the musical What Makes Sammy Run?, released in 1964 by Columbia Masterworks under catalog number KOL 6040. The production features music and lyrics by Ervin Drake and a book by Budd and Stuart Schulberg, based on the novel by Budd Schulberg. The cast includes Steve Lawrence, Sally Ann Howes, Robert Alda, and Bernice Massi. The front cover displays the title in orange and white lettering against a black background with a stylized illustration of a couple. The back cover features a color photograph of the three lead performers. The record label is the grey Columbia Masterworks design with white and black text. A white adhesive promotional sticker is affixed to the Side 1 label, reading FOR DEMONSTRATION USE ONLY NOT FOR SALE in capital letters.
