Willem Elsschot - Drie boeken: Een ontgoocheling

1st book A Disillusionment: Second edition (likely a reprint from 1943), P.N. van Kampen & Zoon N.V. in Amsterdam. The distinctive cloth dust jacket with a playing card and an illustration was designed by Emile Bron. The dust jacket is slightly discolored and somewhat damaged at the top of the spine (dust jackets from that period are rarely in perfect condition). The book itself is bound in gray-beige linen with orange lettering and is in good condition, without discoloration. 2nd book Lijmen: Illustrated second edition from 1932, Wereldbibliotheek in Amsterdam 'For the spread of good and inexpensive literature'. The book contains nine black-printed linocuts in the Flemish Expressionist style of Henri van Straten. The book is bound in beige linen and the front cover bears a red linocut. The binding has some brown spots. The interior of the book is spotless, except for the last 18 pages. Here there is water damage at the top of the pages. 3rd book The Redemption: Original first edition from 1921, Boek- en Kunstdrukkerij G.J. van Amerongen & Co. Carton-covered/paper-over edition (besides this edition, a luxury linen variant was also issued at the time). The cover is beige with sober, classical typography. The book is lightly discolored and fragile (the endpaper glue is slightly loose on the inside).
