Winchester Model 1897 12 gauge slide-action shotgun, serial 472577, manufactured in 1910. Takedown configuration with matching serial numbers on receiver and barrel extension. Features a 30" round barrel with matted top and Full choke, tubular maga zine, exposed hammer, grooved walnut slide handle and checkered walnut buttstock with black diamond form inlays and fitted with an aftermarket adjustable buttplate/recoil pad assembly. Metal surfaces exhibit substantial thinning and loss of origina l finish with areas of brown patina, oxidation, scratches and handling wear. Rear stock has a couple of hairline cracks behind the receiver. Wood exhibits scattered scratches, dents and finish wear consistent with use.
