All auctions / Miscellaneous / WMF en Thomas Rosenthal, West Germany - Coffee and tea service (5) - Porcelain

Heavy silver-plated porcelain dinnerware made by the top manufacturers WMF and Thomas in the mid-1950s. WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) was founded in 1853. Since the 1950s, WMF focused its production mainly on hotel ware and cutlery. Thomas porcelain factory was founded in 1903 in Marktredwitz. In 1908 Thomas became a subsidiary of Rosenthal AG, which explains the capital R in the logo. All items bear logos used between 1953 and 1960. It is not surprising that all items share the same design: the two factories worked closely together. The particularly fine set consists of: Thomas: Large coffee pot with lid, height 27 cm, width from handle to spout 24 cm, body Ø 14 cm; Sugar pot with lid, height 12 cm, width from handle to spout 12 cm, body Ø 10 cm; Milk jug, height 11 cm, width from handle to spout 10 cm, body Ø 7 cm; WMF: Teapot with straw-woven detail around the handle + lid, height 22 cm, width from handle to spout 27 cm, body Ø 16 cm; Coffee pot with lid, height 19 cm, width from handle to spout 17 cm, body Ø 10 cm. Very good vintage condition, with no chips and no cracks. The photos are part of the description and the condition. Your purchase will be securely packaged to prevent breakage and shipped insured.
