The first image is AI-enhanced to better showcase the design against a neutral background. Please rely only on the following original photos for the item’s true condition. WMF Jugendstil coffee/tea service – silver-plated – 4-piece – ca. 1903–1910 – 1,375 grams Beautiful and complete four-piece WMF coffee/tea service – Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, Geislingen, Germany, dating from the early 20th century, circa 1903–1910. The set is made of silver-plated metal and consists of a coffee/tea pot, milk jug, sugar bowl and matching oval serving tray. The whole has an elegant design typical of the Jugendstil / Art Nouveau period. Particularly attractive are the delicate tracery borders, the pearl decorations, the gracefully shaped handles and the characteristic spout of the large pot. The coffee/tea pot also has a hinged lid with a distinctive ribbed knob. Parts and weight The set consists of four matching pieces: Coffee/tea pot: 495 grams Sugar bowl: 258 grams Milk jug: 201 grams Oval serving tray: 421 grams Total weight of the complete set: 1,375 grams The relatively heavy weight and sturdy construction illustrate the quality with which WMF produced its table wares in this period. Dimensions Dimensions are approximate and also visible in the photos: Coffee/tea pot * height including knob: circa 16 cm * width including handle and spout: circa 20–21 cm * weight: 495 grams Milk jug * height: circa 10 cm * width including handle and spout: circa 13 cm * weight: 201 grams Sugar bowl * height to rim: circa 8–9 cm * diameter: circa 11 cm * equipped with a movable handle * weight: 258 grams Serving tray * length: circa 31–32 cm * oval shape with a profiled, wavy rim * weight: 421 grams Brand marks The underside bears the original WMF marks, including the famous ostrich mark of Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik. In addition, the marking I/O is present. This designation was used by WMF for silver-plated objects and refers to the applied silvering quality. Based on the design and the WMF mark used, the set can be placed in the early 20th century, circa 1903–1910. Design The set has a beautiful transitional style that closely aligns with German Jugendstil. Characteristic details include: * openwork decorative bands around the top * decorative pearl rims * gracefully formed handles * elegant curved pouring spout * globular bodies * ribbed globular knob on the lid * nicely profiled edge of the serving tray The relatively restrained yet highly refined design allows the set to blend excellently with both classical and modern interiors. ### Condition The set is in good antique condition, especially given its age of well over a hundred years. There are normal signs of use and aging, including: * fine scratches * light polishing and use marks * locally slight discoloration or oxidation * superficial signs of wear on the serving tray These signs of use are appropriate for the age and original use of the set. The silver-plated surfaces still have a beautiful shine and the whole presents very attractively. The handles, the sugar bowl’s lid hinge and the hinged lid of the coffee/tea pot are present. Please view the extensive photo report carefully. The photos form an important part of the description and give a good impression of the condition, dimensions, detailing and marks. ### Specifications * Manufacturer: WMF – Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik * Origin: Geislingen an der Steige, Germany * Period: circa 1903–1910 * Style: Jugendstil / Art Nouveau * Material: silver-plated metal * Marks: WMF ostrich mark / I/O * Number of parts: 4 * Total weight: 1,375 grams A particularly decorative and complete antique WMF coffee/tea set from the early 20th century, appealing to collectors of WMF, Jugendstil, Art Nouveau and antique silver-plated tableware.
