Wooden reliquary – Fang – Gabon This wooden reliquary is attributed to the artistic tradition of the Fang of Gabon. Fang reliquary figures, traditionally associated with the cult of ancestors, were placed on baskets or boxes intended to preserve ancestral relics. Carved in wood, this piece is distinguished by the stylization of its silhouette, the balance of its volumes and the expressive force of its features, testifying to the exceptional mastery of Fang sculpture. Through its sculptural presence and timeless aesthetics, this reliquary naturally asserts itself as a focal point in a collection of African art or a contemporary interior. The nobility of the wood and the sobriety of its lines create an elegant dialogue between cultural heritage and contemporary aesthetics. A piece of character intended for collectors and lovers of African art seeking an expressive, refined object laden with symbolism.
