apoleon Bonaparte Collection – Stamps, blocks and gilded editions A beautiful thematic compilation devoted to Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821), bringing together numerous series, blocks, and commemorative issues from, among others, Bhutan, Gabon, Senegal, Dahomey, Congo, the Central African Republic, French Polynesia, Oman, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, New Caledonia and other territories. The collection includes many issues related to the bicentennial of Napoleon's birth, as well as depictions of the Emperor, his campaigns and historical figures of his era. A particularly interesting aspect: several special gilded or precious-metal editions are present, including two specimens advertised as 0.6 g and 1.2 g presented as 23-carat gold. Other pieces are philatelic supports covered with gold leaf or gilded, and should not be regarded as solid gold coins. An original and rich compilation for collectors of Napoleon, thematic philately, and commemorative issues in gold or gilded finishes. Sold as is, with the album that shows some defects.
