In Christopher Gilbert's The Life & Work Of Thomas Chippendale, this model of table is described as one of Chippendale's 'most popular occasional table design types' with its veneer-segmented hexagonal top, baluster shaped pedestal and similarly profiled legs with scrolled feet, although presented in several variants.
