y marie - L’étang

This oil painting features a wooded landscape dominated by a large tree with coppery tones, at the foot of which dense vegetation extends, richly worked. On the left, a small house with rosy-red roofs is set in a natural setting crossed by a winding path, which leads the eye toward a turquoise-blue pond. The composition is distinguished by the contrast between the delicate blues of the water and sky and the warm hues of ochre, brown, green, and rust in the foliage. The depth of the landscape is heightened by successive planes, while the slightly hazy background provides a sense of distance and serenity. The handling of material occupies a central place in this work. Impasto and layered brushstrokes give relief to the trunk, the foliage, and the foreground elements. Smoother transitions in the sky and on the water balance this generous material and structure the depth of the scene. Through its chromatic harmony and textured treatment, L’Étang offers a peaceful view of an autumn landscape, where nature, water, and architecture come together in an balanced composition. The situational visuals are AI visualizations based on photographs of the real object. The photos of the real object are authoritative.
