The portrait juxtaposes the classic expressiveness of her eyes and the sobriety of her grayscale hands in a contemplative pose, against an explosion of chromatic splashes and collage influences in blues, oranges, yellows, and reds that cover her face. Adorned with a floral headpiece framing the top of the composition, the painting achieves a perfect balance between the timeless elegance of the historical figure and the modernity of contemporary abstraction.
