About the artist: Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses digital intelligence tools; she currently lives and works in Alicante, Spain. Owner and partner of a company dedicated to the sale, representation and development of artists and artworks, Velázquez combines her business vision with a deep artistic sensibility. This young Cuban talent has established herself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, the landscape, and the intimate relationship between woman and her environment. Her works address with delicacy and visual strength topics such as beauty, love, sensuality, and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic, and refined atmospheres. With a vibrant and expressive aesthetic, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, resulting in versatile, fresh, and deeply evocative works. The pictorial texture of her images, the masterful use of color, and the emotionally balanced composition position her work as a current and highly aesthetic art proposal. Shipping and presentation: The work will be carefully packaged by a professional and shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, internally protected with bubble wrap to guarantee its integrity during transport. Shipments are made through reliable courier companies such as UPS, FedEx, or Correos España, depending on the destination and the most convenient option in each case. The estimated delivery time is 7 to 10 days, though it may vary depending on the destination country. The image depicts a young winged woman with a serene face and eyes that engage the viewer with depth, holding an antique compass in her hands. The technical treatment borders on the idealized realism of the great academic portraitists of the 19th century, such as John William Waterhouse or Edward Burne-Jones, but with a contemporary and renewed execution that seeks to convey more than imitate. The soft color palette — dominated by ivories, blue-gray tones and warm golds —, together with the floral background and the central symmetry of the composition, creates a spiritual and ethereal atmosphere. The texture of the dress and the detailed work of the wings evoke purity and stillness, with a visual harmony that transcends decoration and enters the symbolic. The winged figure is an archetypal representation of the angel or spiritual guide, but not in a religious sense, rather as a universal symbol of inner guidance. The compass, the central element of the image, becomes a metaphor for the search for meaning, for direction, for the “north” in times of confusion. The fact that she holds it at heart level emphasizes its meaning: the true path is found through intuition and consciousness. This work is a silent call to retreat, to inner listening. The angel does not fly: it stays, observes, guides. It is the guardian of balance, of time suspended, of the essential. The piece firmly inserts itself within the contemporary movement of symbolic realism, a current that reclaims the technical values of classical art to build existential and emotional messages, deeply relevant today. The image also alludes to the pictorial symbolism of the late 19th century, where everyday objects (a compass, a flower, a garment) carry philosophical or spiritual meanings. In a world saturated with visual noise, this work proposes an aesthetic of sacred silence, of art as a mirror for the inner self. Ideal for contemplative spaces or collections that value the spiritual within the figurative.
