Yayoi Kusama Tenugui LOVE FOREVER This tenugui (Japanese towel) was made using the kata-yuzen dyeing technique by a renowned Kyoto workshop. Among the polka dots, the words “LOVE FOREVER,” a phrase dear to Kusama, are inscribed alongside a portrait of the artist herself, also polka-dotted. Thin and durable, this tenugui is absorbent, dries quickly and is heat resistant, making it ideal for various activities such as hiking and mountaineering. Its original and colorful design allows you to appreciate art with every use, and it also makes a perfect gift. Dimensions: Approximately H 910 mm x L 260 mm Material: 100% cotton Made in Japan The copy offered for sale is still kept in its original blister, protected from light to best preserve its condition. Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese avant-garde artist globally recognized, a painter, sculptor, performer and novelist. From a young age, she developed an obsessive fascination with polka dots, nets and repetitive motifs, which have become the signature of her artistic universe. She extends these hypnotic forms into paintings, sculptures and installations, notably her famous pumpkins, flowers and immersive Infinity Rooms. A major figure in contemporary art, Kusama sits among a generation of artists who profoundly renewed visual culture, alongside Andy Warhol and Pop Art, Keith Haring with his instantly recognizable graphic language, or Ai Weiwei, whose work blends contemporary art with monumental installations. Her approach to color, repetition and objects can also evoke Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koons, Niki de Saint Phalle or Louise Bourgeois. Thanks to her unique and instantly identifiable aesthetic, Yayoi Kusama is today one of the most iconic Japanese and contemporary artists on the international stage.
