Each of the 145 objects are illustrated and discussed. It is the first comprehensive treatment of the famous Tokugawa collection in English. Bound in white heavy card stock centrally stamped in a decorative silver design - original cardbox - 37x26 - as new. The Tokugawa family were more than collectors of the greatest Japanese art; they were among the most powerful and influential lords in all of Japan's history. The family governed for over two hundred and fifty years (1603-1868) as the central political, economic, and military force in the land.
