Yves Weiler - DISTORSION ou REALITE ? (XL)

Does reality correspond to what we see? Or is it only an optical illusion of the object, a deformation of the environment, a distortion of the eye, or an interpretation by the brain? The artist plays with lines and textures to create an optical illusion, reminiscent of the moving surface of water in a swimming pool, where the orange object one thinks one is grasping continually slips away. This canvas invites us to question our relationship to the visible world, and to reflect on how our mind constructs reality. A particular technique is used to obtain this blurred, abstract rendering of the small tiles of the pool, heightening the visual distortion. The painter and engineer by training, Yves is intrigued by how the brain works. For his original creations, Yves received an Artistic Merit Certificate from the prestigious Luxembourg Art Prize from 2021 to 2025. The canvas will be carefully packaged by the artist himself in order to guarantee its integrity during shipping. The in-situ view is AI-generated when all other photos are real.
