Yves Weiler - TERRA INCOGNITA (XL)

This work is part of the series “The Earth from Above,” imagining a territory that does not appear on any map. Forms emerge like newborn continents, pigments settle in successive layers, while textures recall fractures in the Earth's crust, the beds of ancient rivers, or the veins of a polished rock. An invitation to explore an inner landscape where science, poetry, and imagination meet. This original creation is made with oil paint and glass-paint applied on canvas. Yves has developed a particular technique that achieves this rendering, giving both transparency and body. The discreet signature, a simple W, and the hanging system allow display in four orientations. The artist recommends occasionally turning the canvas to suit personal affinities. For his original works, Yves received a Certificate of Artistic Merit from the prestigious Luxembourg Art Prize for 2021–2025. The canvas will be carefully packaged by the artist himself to ensure its integrity during shipping. The in-situ view is AI-generated, so all the other photos are real."} } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } }}
