Sir Peter Blake is one of Britain’s most important pop artists, who came to prominence in the late 1950s, when he exhibited at the ICA (London). His first solo exhibition was in 1960. Blake produced a number of book illustrations and album covers throughout his career, including perhaps his most recognisable work, the sleeve for the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967).
