Adolph Gottlieb (1903-1974) USA

The American artist Adolph Gottlieb attended the Art Students’ League in New York in 1920 and Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris från 1921 to 1923.
Gottlieb developed his expressionist paintings, or pictographs, with influences from the 1930’s surrealism and encounters with Native American lifestyle and symbolism he had made when living in Arizona, USA. 
Together with Arshile Gorky, Gottlieb is considered to be a very important influence of the abstract expressionism.
